SIBO & IBS Nutritionist – NYC

Hey hey!  I am Sara Kahn, MS, CNS, CDN.

I am a board-certified clinical & functional nutritionist in New York City and virtually by video conference all over the country.

I specialize in chronic cases of SIBO, IBS and acid reflux.

Like most of my clients, I have struggled with digestive issues for years, not to mention anemia, nutrient deficiencies, and skin conditions. It wasn’t until I understood the root cause of my symptoms that true healing could begin.

After being diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), I met with several doctors, tried numerous elimination diets and took a gazillion supplements over the years. I would get some relief but symptoms would always return.

Several years later, I was diagnosed with and treated for SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth) and the underlying causes, which for me include history or food poisoining, history of antibiotic usage and major stress.

I can now tolerate all of my favorite foods (hello, pizza and guacamole), which makes life way more enjoyable and much less stressful.

I have experienced first hand how nutrition for IBS & SIBO has impacted my health. But it wasn’t just a change in diet that helped. I took an integrative, multi-pronged approach to healing including stress management (thanks to meditation and yoga), movement (regular moderate exercise – no more spinning for me) and improved sleep.

Kind Words From Our Clients

I have been working with Sara for a few months now. My goal was to fight inflammation and alleviate symptoms of autoimmune disease. Since then, I have been able to get off some of my medications and even lose a little weight. I am now symptom-free and feel great! Sara is extremely thorough and caring, always willing to share valuable information and resources – not only nutrition-wise, but for overall well-being. I would highly recommend Sara to anyone looking to improve nutrition, help autoimmune disease symptoms and relieve digestive issues.

Kind Words From Our Clients

I am so grateful to have found you and worked with you. You gave me the push I needed to figure out what was going on and get on the track of healing my digestive system (and the rest of myself, really). I am so much more at peace with the fact that I do have a sensitive system, and that’s because I’m so much more equipped with the knowledge, resources, and tools needed to take care of myself. I know my journey isn’t over (and probably never will be), but I feel so much better on a daily basis, and when I do get off track or have a flare up, I know what to do. That’s all thanks to you!
