Testing helps identify health conditions, food allergies, and food sensitivities. Testing can help us be more specific in our approach to obtaining long lasting relief.
Below are tests that I offer or can recommend your health care practitioner perform based on our exploration of your health history and symptoms.
SIBO Breath Test - This is a non-invasive breath test to determine if you have SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth). You perform this at home and results are available within 2 – 3 business days. Read more about SIBO.
Lactose Breath Test – Lactose is present in many dairy products. Symptoms of lactose intolerance include gas, bloating, abdominal cramping and diarrhea. This is a non-invasive breath test to determine if you have lactose intolerance. You perform this at home and results are available within 2 – 3 business days.
Fructose Breath Test - Fructose malabsorption is very common and can occur in up to 33% of the population. Fructose can be found in certain fruits, vegetables, sweetened beverages and sweeteners. Symptoms of fructose malabsorption include gas, bloating, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, fatigue, sugar cravings and more. You perform this at home and results are available within 2 – 3 business days.
In addition to regular blood tests performed by your doctor during a physical, which include a Complete Blood Count and Complete Metabolic Panel, I may recommend the following tests:
Food allergy blood test and/or skin prick test
Nutrient markers such as vitamin B12, folate, homocysteine, methylmalonic acid, iron panel, vitamin D, copper, zinc and more
